12/28/2023 0 Comments Nerf helios maggazine lock fell out![]() ![]() Aesthetically similar to the NERF Rival Apollo XV-700 in terms of design, the Helios packs the action of a foam ball blaster into a tighter and smaller frame while remaining satisfyingly hefty to hold. The NERF Rival Helios XVII-700 manages to just about tick all those boxes. NERF has had a simple but effective evolution as the brand rolled out licensed and updated foam dart and ball weapons: Make something that looks cooler, shoots faster and is still technically safe for everyday shenanigans. Foam warfare has changed, and so has the company that provides weapons of mass distraction. The switch on the back only disengages the lock that prevents repriming, it won't do anything while in the process of priming the blaster.Over the last couple of years, NERF has done a brilliant job in reinventing itself. You'll want to be careful when opening the blaster the spring will be under tension, and parts will probably go flying once it has an avenue to release the tension. You can try to prime back even more, but if it is a compression issue, you may have to take the blaster apart and either cut off some coils of the spring or find one that fits better. Where did you source your spring, and did you modify the blaster yourself? It is possible that the spring is too long, so the blaster can't prime back far enough to catch and disengage the ratchet. If it is like the Atlas, it probably has a ratcheting prime, so it may not be fully primed back, which would explain the play. This is the Helios, correct? (Does it prime with a hook, or with a bolt that can be put on either side)Īs I understand it, the Helios should have a return spring, so it should spring forward once fully primed.
